​

You come to the Dominican Republic, you dance, you connect, you fall in love with the culture and the people.​ Ritmo y Apoyo exists so that the support continues after the music stops.

 

Through partnerships with local leaders and MetaMovements in Las Terrenas, we actively fund and sustain ongoing programs in dance, literacy, and community care. These are not future ideas. They are initiatives already in motion and growing quickly.

 

In the past year alone, community funds have helped families rebuild after electrical surge fires, provided support after local flooding, and sustained weekly dance and literacy workshops for children that continue to expand month by month.

 

Our support flows directly back into the Dominican Republic, strengthening programs created and led by MetaMovements. While MetaMovements is an international artist collective working across multiple countries, Ritmo y Apoyo specifically channels resources back into the Las Terrenas community where these relationships and programs were born.

This is a simple and tangible way to give back to the community that gives us so much joy.

What your support does

Ritmo y Apoyo helps sustain three core areas of impact in Las Terrenas:

​

• Weekly dance and literacy workshops for children that are rapidly expanding as more families join
• Paid teaching opportunities and an emergency support fund for local dancers and artists who lead this work on the ground
• Immediate community response funds used for real needs such as fire recovery, flooding relief, and essential family support

Real Impact Happening Now

In just the past year, community support has directly helped:

• Families rebuild their homes after electrical surge fires, which are unfortunately common in the DR
• Provide immediate relief for families affected by seasonal flooding
• Sustain and rapidly expand weekly dance and literacy workshops for children in Las Terrenas
• Create paid teaching opportunities for local dancers who now lead and mentor the next generation
• Offer emergency support to artists and families during urgent moments of need

Ritmo y Apoyo works in direct partnership with MetaMovements, the international artist collective that established and continues to lead these programs locally. While MetaMovements collaborates with communities across multiple countries, the funds raised here are intentionally directed back into the Dominican Republic to sustain and grow the programs in Las Terrenas.
